to start a Group Home of any kind, example: Children or
Adult Group
Homes for the Mentally Retarded,
Mentally Ill and Juvenile Delinquency. We can also supply you with all forms necessary to operate
your Group Home, to include assisting you to prepare your Policy and Procedure. All of
our information is on starting and maintaining a Group Home
business. I WILL ADVISE YOU THAT IF YOU ARE NOT STARTING THIS
TYPE OF BUSINESS FOR THE RIGHT REASON (WHICH IS PROVIDING A SERVICE
TO RESIDENTS) YOU ARE DOING AN INJUSTICE TO THE RESIDENTS.
Your main focus has to be to increase the quality of life of the
individuals that you will serve.

First
I would like to share with you, some information on what Group
Homes consist of and how wonderful it can be for you and the
children, adolescents or adults that you could possibly help.
-
GROUP
HOMES are closely supervised, 3 to 6 bed facilities located in
residential areas. Group Homes are licensed by the Department of
Health and Human Services in your state to serve children, adolescents
or adults.
-
This would also be classified as a GROUP HOME. The programs are designed to keep the
residents close
to home while allowing the opportunity to utilize existing
community resources when possible. Group Homes are directed by a
professional individual like a Social Worker .
Together the team implements the program and coordinates
treatment services to the residents and their families or
guardians. The program can offer a high level of structure in a
family-style environment that is effective, humane, satisfactory
to resident and cost efficient. Group Home programs teach social,
academic, vocational, and self-help skills, increasing the
resident’s ability to function successfully in the community. At
the same time, work is done with the families or guardians to
help create support systems for the residents so they can maintain
progress even after Group Home treatment is complete. Group Home
stay can vary from days to months, depending on the need of the
residents and their families. The Group Home treatment is
integrated with other community services and individualized to
meet the specific needs of each resident and family. This approach
allows Group Homes to provide family style living in the least
restrictive setting possible. Residents are normally grouped on
levels of care.
